Why do I have dandruff?

This arises due to accelerated mitosis and loss of water in the make-up of the tissue, which is why a rapid and abnormal formation of flakes and build-ups of cornea cells appear on the skin. This is what we call pityriasis simplex or dandruff.

This may be due to digestive disorders, stress, deficient blood supply or aggressive products.

Why do I secrete grease?

Bad dietary habits, stress, hormonal factors or a confined way of life tend to encourage this kind of pathology.

Yes, it is called postpartum hair-loss; this is related to the level of oestrogen hormones which remained at a very high level during the last quarter of the pregnancy. This is why, during this phase, there is very little hair-loss and the seborrhea secretion is reduced.

The woman may lack iron or have a hormonal imbalance.

Once pregnancy is over, the levels of hormones go back to normal, significant hair-loss can occur (30 to 40%) approximately two or three months after giving birth.

It can be dyed, highlights can be applied, and it can be washed without being taken out etc.

Really, there is only one type of prosthesis, that which is not detectable, extremely thin, cannot be differentiated by touch and with which you can live a perfectly normal life. Yet, on many occasions, wigs, toupees, and hairpieces are mistakenly called hair prosthesis.

How are they different from wigs?

Wigs are manufactured in a series of different models, colours and styles. They can be hand-made, machine-made, made of synthetic fabric or natural hair. They can be considered as a standard product, with a repetitive image and a less secure attachment. However, high quality wigs are also perfectly advisable.

How is a hair prosthesis attached?

It is done by attaching it directly to the skin, using hypoallergenic systems which can last as long as the user may require. Any sport can be practiced, no matter how rough it may be, as well as sleeping, swimming in the sea, or the swimming pool...

If required it can also be removed and put back on daily. All this, generally has to be done according to professional advice.
